Fortress Sports Update: Week 7

Welcome to the Fortress Sports Update for the week of October 17th.  This is where we bring you a look at the week's upcoming high school sporting events.  I'm Tim Decker.

On Monday, October 17th -
It's a quiet night for Grant County as no local high school sporting events are taking place.  

On Tuesday, October 18th -
The 40th annual I-H-S-A-A State Girls Volleyball Tournament gets underway with sectional action.  The Oak Hill Golden Eagles play North Miami at 7 pm at North Miami High School.

On Wednesday, October 19th -
Wow, 2 nights in one week?  It's another quiet night for high school sports in Grant County.

On Thursday, October 20th -
The Marion Giants Volleyball team will be starting their postseason run at McCutcheon High School.  The teams plays Kokomo at 6 pm.

The Mississinewa Indians will play in their volleyball sectional opener at Norwell High School also.  The team plays Norwell at 6 pm.  Eastbrook's Volleyball Sectional Opener against Whitko follows at 7:30 pm at Norwell High School.

On Friday, October 21st -
Sectional Play is beginning in High School Football this week as well.  Here is the lineup of games:
Marion at Jay County - 7:30 pm
Mississinewa at Maconaquah - 7 pm
Yorktown at Eastbrook - 7 pm
Oak Hill at Madison-Grant - 7 pm

On Saturday, October 22nd -
The Madison-Grant Argyles Volleyball team opens sectional play at 12:30 pm against Tipton.  The game will be played at Madison-Grant High School.

The Oak Hill Boys Cross Country Team is competing in semi-state action starting at 10:30 am.  The meet is taking place at New Prairie High School.

The Eastbrook Girls and Boys Cross Country Teams will also compete in semi-state action starting at 1 pm.  The meet is taking place at New Haven High School.
