Interview Questions for Madison-Grant's Beau Engle

Now that I have an episode under my belt, I have the confidence that I'm able to make it each and every week.  The only way that the show can get better at this point is fine-tuning.  I need to take the things that I already have in place and make adjustments to make them better.  With that said, here's a look at the questions I prepared for Madison-Grant Varsity Football Head Coach Beau Engle:

“The Windup” Week 2 Interview Questions for Madison-Grant Coach Beau Engle

I.                    Last Week’s Game

a.       The Argyles defeated Oak Hill last week for a 28-21 win.  What was the biggest factor in the tough win?

b.      From what I’ve seen in my experience watching high school football, there are a lot of teams that primarily focus on the run.  Your quarterback, Derek Durkes, had a 63-yard touchdown pass in the first half.  How involved was the passing game throughout this game and what kind of impact does it have on your offense?

c.       After starting the season 0-2, your team has now won 2 straight to get back to .500.  How have the Argyles been able to turn the season around?

II.                  This Week’s Game

a.       You return home this week to play the Elwood Panthers.  What kind of game plan do you have going into tonight’s game? 

b.      Let’s talk about the defense.  They made some huge plays late to save the Oak Hill game.  What are some things they will have to take from last week’s game and use in tonight’s?

c.       I read online that homecoming is this week for Madison-Grant.  With homecoming comes all kinds of activities throughout the week, as a coach, how do you keep the team focused on the game?

III.                Other Grant County Matchups

a.       The Eastbrook Panthers have won 28 straight regular season games in a row.  They look to move to 5-0 against Blackford this week.  Just how impressive is this streak in high school football?

b.      The Mississinewa Indians look to improve on their best start since 1993 as they travel to Alexandria.  What have you seen in the improvement at Mississinewa?

c.       The Oak Hill Golden Eagles look to avoid a third straight loss this week when it travels to Frankton.  As a coach, how do you keep these young players motivated in the middle of a tough losing streak?

IV.                College Football / NFL Week 2

a.       Which team surprised you the most in week 1 and why?

b.      Which team disappointed you the most in week 1 and why?

c.       The Indianapolis Colts host their home opener with the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.  Let’s put you in Coach Caldwell’s shoes. After last week’s performance, what are you telling your team for this week’s game?

d.      Tim vs. Coaches Week 2
