Fortress Sports Update: Week 1

Welcome to the first edition of the Fortress Sports Update where we bring you a look at the week's upcoming high school sporting events.  I'm Tim Decker.

We'll start with volleyall as the Marion Giants will host Homestead at 6 pm on Tuesday, September 6th.  The Oak Hill volleyball team has two home matches this week on back to back nights starting on Wednesday with Eastern and Eastbrook on Thursday.  Both of those matches start at 6 pm. The Madison-Grant High School Volleyball team will play against Mississinewa on Wednesday, September 7th at 6 pm in Gas City.  On Thursday, September 8th, the Argyles host Madison County at 5:30 pm. The Mississinewa Indians Volleyball team has 3 matches this week.  Along with playing Madison-Grant on Thursday night, the team will play Blackford at home on Wednesday, September 7th at 6 pm.  The team will also be a part of the Rossville Invitational on Saturday, September 10th which starts at 9 am

In the world of cross country, the Oak Hill Boys and Girls team hosts the Oak Hill Invitational on Tuesday, September 6th at 4:30.  The Golden Eagles Team has a second meet this week on Saturday at the Blackford Invitational with a 9:30 am start.  The Mississinewa and Eastbrook Boys and Girls teams will compete at both events with Marion High School's team competing only at the Blackford Invitational.  While the Madison-Grant Cross Country team is competing at the Oak Hill Invitational, they are also competing against Alexandria on Thursday at 4:30 pm.

The Eastbrook Panthers will host Alexandria in high school football.  The Madison-Grant Argyles will travel to Oak Hill for a county match-up.  The Mississinewa Indians will remain at home as they host Frankton over in Gas City.  Finally, the Marion Giants will travel to Richmond.  All these games begin at 7 pm on Friday.
