As I'm prepping for the first show of the year, here's a look at the questions Eastbrook Coach Jeff Adamson and I discussed:

Interview Questions for Eastbrook Head Football Coach Jeff Adamson

I.                    Last Game

a.       Your team jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the first half.  How important is a fast start for your team?

b.      533 rushing yards.  That’s the amount your team gained last week.  How did your team managed to pile up so many yards?

c.       Senior Gavin Pearson carried the ball 17 times for 283 yards with 3 total touchdowns.  After losing 22 seniors from last year’s team, what impact do the seniors have on this year’s team?

d.      One of the big factors throughout the game was heat. I’ve heard the criticisms this week about your up-tempo pace like using the no huddle offense in such extreme conditions. What’s your response to that? 

e.      Your team improved to 3-0 after defeating Frankton, 66-7.  We’re about a third of the way through the season now.  Where would you say your team is at as it heads into the middle portion of the season?

II.                  This Week’s Game

a.       This week you play Alexandria at home.  What are some things that your team is preparing for when Alexandria comes to town? 

b.      This game will be your lone home game until 3 weeks later on Sept. 30^th.  How much of a factor is the home crowd?  Would you almost consider this a must-win game?

c.       Alexandria’s offense averages 42 points a game while the Panthers’ defense only gives up 13 points a game.  What does your team need to do to stop the high power offense?

III.                Remainder of Season

a.       The Panthers are ranked #6 in the Indiana Football Coaches Association Class 3A Poll.  How much focus do you put on the rankings throughout the season?

b.      Eastbrook ends the regular season with 3-straight intra-county matchups at home.  What does the team need to do now to prepare for that stretch at the end of the season?

c.       In over 20 years coaching the team, you amassed an incredible 195-63 record.  How does Eastbrook continue to be ranked in the top 10 in class 3A, be at the top of the CIC, and win sectional titles seemingly year after year?

d.      Can you share with our listeners one thing that makes Eastbrook football stand out from other high school football teams?

a.       What other Grant County team is standing out to you at this point in the season?

b.      Which Grant County school has a tough place to play at?

V.                  NFL Kickoff Weekend

a.       What team do you think is going to have a huge year in the NFL?

b.      What is one team that there is just too much hype for?

c.       Indianapolis Colts Quarterback Peyton Manning is listed as doubtful this week against Houston.  What would be your advice to him and Colts coach Jim Caldwell as the team makes its final preparations this weekend?
