Fortress Sports Update: Week 5.2

Welcome to the Fortress Sports Update!  This is where we bring you a glimpse into the week's upcoming Grant County sporting events.  I'm Tim Decker.

On Thursday, February 9th -
High School basketball will take the stage this night as 2 of our teams are in action.  Oak Hill hosts Northfield for a 7:30 p.m. varsity tip.  Meanwhile, the Marion Giants will host Huntington North for an 8 p.m. varsity tip.

On Friday, February 10th -
The IHSAA Sectional Semifinals will be upon us for high school girls basketball.

In Class 4A, the Marion Giants will play McCutcheon at Logansport High School at 7:30 p.m.

In Class 2A, the Madison-Grant Argyls will host Eastern at Madison-Grant High School for a 6 p.m. tip.

Eastbrook, Mississinewa, and Oak Hill have been eliminated from the tournament.

On Saturday, February 11th -
All 5 of our local boys high school basketball teams will be in action. Match-ups include:
North Miami at Oak Hill - 1:30 p.m.
Columbia City at Marion - 2:30 p.m.
Eastbrook at Delta - 2:30 p.m.
Southwood at Madison-Grant - 2:30 p.m.
Mississinewa at Peru - 7:30 p.m.

In Girls High School Basketball, if Marion or Madison-Grant win on Friday, they will play in a sectional championship game this night.

In college basketball, both our local men's and women's teams will be in action.  On the boys side, Taylor will host Huntington and IWU will travel to Bethel with each game starting at 3 p.m.  On the women's side, the IWU Wildcats will host Bethel while the Taylor Trojans will be at Huntington.  Both of those games start at 1 p.m.

On Sunday, February 12th -
There are no local sporting events taking place on this day.

On Monday, February 13th -
There are no local sporting events taking place on this day.
