Week 9 Reflection

As we start November, things are not looking good for me involving high school football.  It looks like the last couple of shows might have to be twisted just a bit.

So, you know how I said last week I really wanted some county teams to go deep in the sectional playoffs?  Well, that didn't happen.

Marion, Mississinewa, and Madison-Grant all lost.  Therefore, there won't be any more Indiana High School football games this year.  That's a bummer.  This week's biggest challenge was the guest.  Who do I interview?  I wanted to do one more football episode to put a cap on the 2011 football season.  After some thought, I decided on Eastbrook Head Football Coach Jeff Adamson.  Why?  Honestly, I started this semester with him and I wanted to finish the football portion with him.

The interview went quite well as Coach Adamson was one of the more talkative guests this semester.  It turned out to be another great episode.

Holy smokes!  I've done 9 episodes of this.  Another big challenge happening right now is the balancing act I'm trying to pull off right now.  When you mix my other class load/personal life things/social life things/homework/church related things, then you get a mess.  I'm getting very tired.  I'm losing my productivity power.  It's time to pull back from the situation and re-evaluate.  Here's some things I remembered while doing this:

1. I love sports.
2. This has to get done - no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
3. This is my career.  I love doing this.
4. The community is looking for people to keep them up-to-date on sports things.  I'm a fresh look at things.
5. This experience is freaking awesome.
6. God will help you get through it.

These statements were a charge for me this week.  To keep fighting.  To keep working.  To keep serving the Grant County community.  I know I can do this.

Hours Update:
Hours This Week: 10 hours
Total Hours This Semester: 101 hours (74.8% complete)
Minimum Hours Remaining: 34 hours
I'm down to 2 more full weeks of episodes (9-11 hours a week) plus the 2 weeks or so to finish up all things related to project (presentation, portfolio, etc.).  I still believe I am on the pace needed to reach the goal right at the finish line.
