Interview Questions for Eastbrook's Jeff Adamson Round 2

Now that all Grant County teams have been eliminated from the IHSAA Football State Tournament, I thought it would be good to have the first guest of the season back on to end the football portion of "The Windup."

Make sure you catch the latest episode of "The Windup" on 94.3 the Fortress on Friday, November 4th at Noon!

Here are some of the questions that may be asked in this week's interview with the Eastbrook Coach:

“The Windup:” Week 9 Interview Questions for Eastbrook’s Jeff Adamson
I.                   Grant County High School Stories
a.       For the first time since 2007, no Grant County team is playing for a sectional championship this weekend.  What do you believe is the reason for this?  Was it a down year for Grant County football teams?
b.      The Madison-Grant Argyles made things interesting against Churubusco last week having the game tied at halftime.  The Eagles pulled away in the 2nd half to win 28-20.  One big reason was 3rd down conversions – 4/4 in the 2nd half on 2 touchdown drives.  Just how hard is it to get a team off the field when everything is going their way?
c.       The Marion Giants lost to a Leo team, 42-22.  Leo was the team that defeated Eastbrook in a Class 3A Sectional championship game.  What are your thoughts on the Leo program and what kind of run do you think the #4 ranked team in Class 4A now can go?
d.      Another team that you are very familiar with…the Western Panthers knocked out the Mississinewa Indians last week, 58-21 in Class 3A Action.  Mississinewa finished the year at 8-3 after finishing 2-9 a year ago.  From what you’ve seen this year, what can you attribute to the Indians turnaround?
e.       While all teams are eliminated from this year’s tournament, how would you summarize this year for your team, the Eastbrook Panthers, and what would you like to say to the community for all their support this year?
II.                NCAA Storylines
a.       The 5-3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish will be on the road this week to play Wake Forest.  What’s your thoughts on the Irish’s season to this point?  What do you think about the Irish remaining independent amongst all this college realignment?
b.      Conference realignment continues to be a big story in college football this year. The latest being West Virginia moving to the Big 12.  From your football experience, how important is the conference in which you play in?  Is this an attempt to get rid of the BCS?
c.       Big matchup this week in Tuscaloosa - #1 LSU at #2 Alabama in an SEC and National Championship showdown.  If you are Nick Saban, Alabama’s head coach, how are you keeping your team prepared for the game amongst all the hype leading up to it?
III.             NFL News and Games
a.       In Tennessee, former holdout now struggling running back Chris Johnson has been struggling all season accumulating only 302 yards in the 7 games so far.  What are your thoughts on how the holdout/lockout impacted Johnson being ready for the season?
b.      It’s crazy to think that the 2012 NFL Draft is taking up a lot of the season’s headlines but with a stud like Stanford QB Andrew Luck ready to move to the pros…no surprise at all.  What’s your thoughts on this idea of “Suck 4 Luck” that has come about in recent weeks?
c.       Week 9 Coach Pick’em
                                                              i.      1:00 p.m. Sunday – 4-3 Falcons (coming off bye) is at 0-8 Colts (lost to Titans last week) – Who ya pickin’ in this one…Falcons or Colts?
ii.      8:20 p.m. Sunday – 5-2 Ravens (took Ray Rice’s 3 rushing TDs to comeback and beat Cardinals) is at 6-2 Steelers (just defeated Tom Brady and the Pats) – Who wins this one…Steelers or Ravens?
iii.      8:30 p.m. Monday – 4-3 Bears (Coming Off Bye) is at 3-4 Eagles (who absolutely demolished the Cowboys last week) – who ya got...the Bears or the Eagles?
