This has been the first actual week off for "The Windup." I would have scheduled last week as an off week anyways because of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Anyways, there isn't much new news going on with the project at this point. There is one thing I will highlight though.
This week I went out and covered my first high school sporting event in Grant County. There were multiple reasons why I went out to do this. First, it would help me make sure I would make my hour quota for the semester. Secondly, this is something I was wanting to do each week throughout the semester but everything else got in the way. I pray that doesn't happen in the spring. Thirdly, I wanted to see if I would enjoy covering such an event.
Let me just say...it was an amazing experience. I traveled to Madison-Grant High School over in Fairmount to cover the Wes-Del/Madison-Grant Boys Basketball game. I didn't take any audio recording equipment out because I wanted to get a feel of the event. I did take out some stats sheets and did my best to record stats for the games. Even though I was by myself for the event, I enjoyed every minute of it. It was great to be in the atmosphere of high school sports again. I honestly hadn't attended much since I graduated and boy was I missing out!
Like I mentioned earlier, this is something I will hope to do each week at least once from here on out. I'll start my making the Fortress Sports Update each week and then look at the events and my calendar and hopefully find some open holes. We'll see how it goes. May God open the doors for this to work out.
Hours Update:
Hours This Week: 15 hours
Total Hours This Semester: 141.5 hours (100%+ complete!!!)
Minimum Hours Still Needed: 0 hours baby!
My hour quota for the project has been met. Boom baby!
